Expanding Proximity Radius

Generally available
The single place dispatch decides how wide to search for a candidate driver. It starts from a base radius and expands deterministically based on rejections, urgency, allocation risk and customer priority, capped per zone. Every decision is recorded so operators can see exactly why a trip ended up searching a given distance out.

How operators configure this feature.
Most trips find a driver close by. A few don't — a pickup in a quiet area, an unusual vehicle request, a run of rejections — and for those, holding a tight search radius just wastes the clock. Turn this on and the platform widens the search automatically as an at-risk trip waits: gently at first, then further the closer it gets to its deadline, and widest of all for the trips that are hardest to cover. The trips that were already finding drivers nearby are unaffected — only the ones in trouble reach further out. Leave it off and every trip holds the same radius no matter how long it waits.
On / off · default false
Search too tight and trips wait while drivers sit just out of range; search too wide and you pull in cars that take an age to arrive. This sets the starting radius, how many free drivers to find, and how aggressively the search grows — so you can balance fast pickups against reaching every available driver.
| Setting | Range | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Search radius (m) How far from the pickup we look for a free driver before searching wider. | 1000–15000 distance | 5000 |
| Drivers to find Keep searching wider until at least this many free drivers are found. | 1–5 | 1 |
| Widen by Each time the search grows, the radius gets this much bigger (1.5 = 50% wider). | 1.1–3 | 1.5 |
| Most widen tries How many times the search can grow wider before it stops. | 1–5 | 3 |
| At-risk smallest radius (m) Smallest search radius used when a waiting trip is at risk of getting no driver. | 500–5000 | 2000 |
| At-risk largest radius (m) Largest search radius reached when a waiting trip is at risk. | 3000–30000 | 15000 |
| At-risk widen time (s) How long a waiting trip takes to reach the largest search radius. | 300–7200 | 1800 |
| Low-supply widen limit (×) How much wider an at-risk trip can search when few drivers are free (needs "Widen the search for at-risk trips" on). | 1–5 | 3 |
| Special-vehicle widen limit (×) How much wider an at-risk trip can search when it needs a specific vehicle type (needs "Widen the search for at-risk trips" on). | 1–5 | 2.5 |
| After-rejections widen limit (×) How much wider an at-risk trip can search after drivers keep rejecting it (needs "Widen the search for at-risk trips" on). | 1–3 | 1.5 |
