Dispatch mode where eligible drivers receive direct trip assignments instead of offers — no accept/reject loop, no expiry timeout. Who is open is decided per fleet by the dispatch.open_mode Configuration: the client mandates it (FORCED_ON, e.g. contractual auto-assign), forbids it (FORCED_OFF), or leaves it to the driver session toggle (DRIVER_CHOICE, with the configured default applied at shift start). Reduces median time-to-assign for cooperating drivers; the non-open population continues on the offer flow in parallel. Reassignment-before-start of open trips is a planned later phase.

Dispatching every booking by hand is slow and uneven, and it bites hardest at peak when there's no time to think. Open Dispatch offers each new trip to the best-placed available driver and keeps trying until it sticks — so your team handles the exceptions, not every trip, and passengers wait less.
